We are looking for an experienced Senior Process Engineer to join our team delivering process design across water and wastewater projects. 

This role is suited to a process engineer with strong technical capability who enjoys developing effective treatment solutions, taking ownership of design packages and supporting the development of junior engineers. 

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, compliant and efficient process designs, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and clients across a range of projects. 

 The Role 

As a Senior Process Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering process engineering design across projects within the water sector. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

• Producing design deliverables that meet safety, quality and regulatory requirements  

• Developing efficient and practical process design solutions from project scopes and site information  

• Communicating design solutions clearly with clients and project teams  

• Directing and supporting junior engineers and graduates  

• Preparing design risk assessments, reports and technical specifications  

• Carrying out mass balances, process sizing and hydraulic calculations  

• Preparing process flow diagrams, control philosophies and commissioning strategies  

• Ensuring designs comply with relevant technical standards, professional guidance and water company requirements  

• Ensuring project design changes are properly implemented and recorded  

• Working in accordance with formal design processes and procedures  

• Estimating design hours and supporting project planning  

• Attending and presenting at HAZOP, ALM, KM and other design review meetings  

 About You 

We are looking for a capable and motivated process engineer with strong experience in the water sector and a desire to continue developing their technical expertise. 

It’s essential that you have:

• Around 10 years’ process design experience within the regulated water industry  

• Strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes and plant design  

• Experience delivering process design for water and/or wastewater projects  

• Degree, HND or significant practical experience from technician level progression  

• Good IT and digital capability  

It’s desirable for you to have: 

• Chartered Engineer status  

• Experience across both clean water and wastewater projects  

• Experience participating in or supporting HAZOP studies (ideally with experience leading elements)  

• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
