Our in-house, electrification installation teams have delivered a varied portfolio of electrification projects across the UK.
From the installation of Overhead Line Electrification foundations, through to the running out and final registration of Overhead Line Electrification conductors. We do testing and commissioning of line-side switches and HV feed cables, we have the capability, and accreditation, to deliver all aspects of this work.
We are regularly contracted to deliver the installation of specific Overhead Line Electrification assets in support of larger re-signalling schemes. This includes line side switching and HV cable installation to derive alternative power supplies to new signalling equipment as well as modifications required to accommodate signal sighting and earthing and bonding changes.
ESL also provide a turnkey electrification service. We have delivered new electrification on existing track, encompassing the full spectrum of D&B activities. From initial survey and site investigation, design, procurement and installation through to final registration, section proving and entry into service.
In combination with our design and engineering teams we undertake the ongoing maintenance of the Overhead Line Electrification infrastructure at a number of depots and manufacturing facilities across the UK.
The combination of our design and installation expertise allows us to provide an agile, and value orientated maintenance service, with a focus on proactive risk mitigation.
Installation Delivery
- Foundations — Overhead Line Electrification foundation installation (concrete, steel tubular piles and bespoke solutions)
- Main Steel — structural steel work installation including Overhead Line Electrification structures, wall brackets and associated drilling works
- Switching — installation, section proving, testing and commissioning
- Support and Registration — installation of cantilevers, registration assemblies and all associated small part steelwork
- Conductors — installation and final registration of conductors, in-span fittings and tensioning equipment
- Earthing and Bonding — installation of earthing and bonding connections for Overhead Line Electrification and signalling infrastructure, including associated remedial works, extraneous bonding and connections to RSC
- Maintenance — inspections and routine overhaul maintenance works
- HV Feeder Cables — installation of route works, cables, cable joints and termination, including testing and commissioning works
