ESL has an extensive survey capability encompassing a range of services supporting our design and engineering activities. From ground investigations and topographical surveys in a high street environment, to undertaking complex intrusive surveys of historic rail viaducts, material testing and Overhead Line Equipment condition surveys, we often find that collation of survey information is the starting point for our design and build works.
General Site Investigation
- Bridge and retaining wall inspections
- Intrusive testing of existing structures (retaining walls/viaducts etc.) including core drilling, endoscopic camera surveys and laser scanning
- Topographical Surveys
- Intrusive materials testing including core drilling and testing of masonry cores and paint testing
- Reinforcement scanning
- Exploratory trial holes to determine bridge deck construction / existing foundation
- Trial holes for foundations to confirm ground type and presence of buried services
- UAV Surveys
Overhead Line Equipment Surveys – ESL undertake detailed OLE surveys on existing rail infrastructure to determine compliance with current standards. This includes geometry checks using laser gauges as well as intrusive survey works using access platforms.
